How To Create A Tinnitus SFX In Phase Plant | Ear Ringing Sound

Having an ear-ringing (tinnitus) sound effect play after a character or player is close to an explosion sound is a classic way to add intensity and realism to a game.

After the explosion, simply filter out all sounds with a low-pass filter and fade in the ear-ringing sound.

In this video, I’ll be demonstrating how to design that ear-ringing sound from scratch inside of Phase Plant, but you can follow along with any synth and stock plugins.
