Can you really create powerful sword attack and impacts sounds from items you currently have in your home?

Yep, and today I’ll show you how.

Here’s a quick tip…experiment attaching whatever knife or metal piece you are recording to a string using tape (I used duct tape). Hang it off of a stand or desk so that it is freely hanging in the air. Now when you hit it with another metal piece, you should get nice ringout sound.

The Challenge:

Redesign a short sword battle clip from the video game Sekiro using only recorded sounds from around your house.

In this video, we’ll go over:

  • What sounds I recorded and how I recorded them to get powerful impact sounds
  • How I layered my sounds together
  • How I redesigned a short clip from the game Sekiro
  • FX, processing, and all that fun stuff!
